Meet cute

In 2014, I signed up for SF Fitness - a gym literally next to my office on 10th and Market - and decided to take the (financial) plunge and get personal training once a week.  After a whole "thing" with a trainer that I wasn't a big fan of, I got re-paired with Robbie.  I liked him immediately.  Perhaps it was his New Zealand accent that made him extra charming, but honestly, it was his genuine kindness that made an uncomfortable environment for me (working out in front of co-workers - because who didn't go to SF Fitness when it opened right next door - ew.) something I looked forward to every week.

We probably did more laughing and catching up each week than working out.  100%, he did his best with me given I'm a huge whiner 😅 and bless his heart for putting up with my bullshit during our one hour workouts.  The sessions with Robbie only lasted for a year, however, we kept in touch.  3 years later and we still make time to meet and see how the other is doing.  So before I head out to Hawaii, we caught up today over two hours of coffee for #Day2 of my sabbatical.  Look at how precious we look!  Besties forever - hahaha -

When I catch myself feeling over the Bay Area (because hey, I'm human and the housing prices here + Tech culture pisses me off from time to time) I kind of give myself an eyeroll and remember all the lucky and rich relationships I’ve built here over the years.  I’ve met some spectacular humans in some of the most random ways in San Francisco and frankly, that makes me #blessedAF.

  1. Ahhh, Quynh, yes it was sweet times.... There was a great deal of good talking, but I do remember a fair few times where there was sweat, burpees and the occasional tear! Good times :) I will always look back on that short and sweet year with great affection and fondness, especially now I have a desk job, when the computer just won't cooperate and I have deadlines. I can't wait to catch up when you'r back and bask in your Sabbatical radiance! haha...!!! P.s. 23 Yoga workouts is crazy... I can't believe you are doing that!
